Chapter 37

Kakashis Trials

Giatsu, Ichigo and Kakashi scoured the room searching for some kind of exit. Within roughly ten minutes they gathered back in what they believed to be the center of the room. As they gathered together Kakashi spoke first.

"Something is definitely wrong here." As Kakashi spoke Ichigo's eyes suddenly got wide and he leapt forward shoving Giatsu and Kakashi out of the way as two spiraling energy balls crashed down where they had been standing only moments sooner. The explosion tore up the ground and threw the three of them into a rock formation nearbye. As they got up they were greeted by two figures standing about fifteen feet in front of them. They were both what appeared to be young girls each with long flowing multi colored hair. They wore short shorts and multicolored leggings under them. They each had on black and white striped shirts and wore what
appeared to be sandals over the leggings on there feet. One of them giggled and stepped forward.

"Ooh it looks like we get to have some fun with the boys eh sis?" She turned to her sister who smirked and replied.

"Yes Indeed it does look that way doesnt it?" She smiled at the three of them who all looked dumbfounded as Giatsu stepped forward he said to them.

"Okay so theres two of you big freakin whoop, tell me where you've taken Zero and maybe i'll let you both live." Giatsu was clearly very angry at them as they both started laughing hysterically before simultaneously smiling at them and going on to say.

"Well for starters hows about you shut that trap of yours and listen. I'm Diamond and thats Emerald or Emma for short. Now then we were given explicit orders to prevent you from making it to our master haha." Diamond chuckled and turned around high fiving her sister as she did. Ichigo looked over at Kakashi and asked.

"Hey Kakashi what should we do? You and I could take them no problem that way Giatsu can go and find Zero so we can all get out of here." Ichigo glared at Kakashi who with one glance at him stepped forward and called out to the twins.

"Well then Diamond and Emma I will be your opponent so long as you allow these two to pass." Kakashi might not have been able to see behind him but the looks on Ichigo and Giatsu's faces were that of shock and dismay. Giatsu turned and grabbed Kakashi by the collar and said to him.

"What makes you think you can take them both by yourself?" Giatsu glared at Kakashi who smiled and replied.

"Because I know that I can, we dont know what else this guy has in store for us so its best to leave one behind rather then two. There may be strength in numbers Giatsu but you need to learn the value of trust." Giatsu then let go of Kakashi's collar and walked back over by Ichigo as he did Emma called out to them.

"Very well, we accept your demands, Giatsu, Ichigo you may both leave now." She held out her hand and the earth began to shift before the door appeared two large rock hands shot up from the ground grabbing Ichigo and Giatsu by there waists and hurling them out the door. As they hit the ground the door slammed shut and vanished before either of them had a chance to get up. As it vanished it left a dead end of which the only way to go was forward. Ichigo stood up and brushed himself off before helping Giatsu up. He then turned to where the door had been and thought to himself.

~Kakashi you fool.~ Giatsu grabbed him by the shoulder and said to him.

"Ichigo it's time to go, c'mon!" Ichigo nodded and the two of them turned and took off down the hall.

In the large throne room the man in the tan cloak smiled to himself as he observed the monitor. Glancing over at where Zero was strapped to the table he said to himself.

"Zero the time is coming, are you prepared to kill your best friend?" The man began to laugh in the deep and pure evil sounding voice as Zero lay still and lifeless on the table.

Yusuke leapt up over one of Kenchi's swings from the ice blade and swung his Zanpakuto at him, Kenchi parried and pushed him away before lunging at him aiming to pierce him with his blade. Yusuke arched himself backwards and the blade soared over top of him as he swung his Zanpakuto upwards cleaving Kenchi's arm clear off. Kenchi leapt back as the blood poured from the wound onto the ground. Yusuke stood up and chuckled a moment before saying.

"So then, it looks like your not so big and bad without your blade eh?" Yusuke chuckled a little more before rushing at him again. This time Kenchi ducked under the blade and with a swift kick sent Yusuke flying into the air. Kenchi lunged forward and grabbed his severed arm the blade still in hand and thew the severed arm aside. As Yusuke recovered from the kick he twisted his body so as to hit the ceiling and he pushed off landing on the ground about seven feet in front of Kenchi who was smirking evily. Yusuke raised and eyebrow at this and watched as from the wound on Kenchi's body tiny tendrils began to shot out waving irratically about and forming back into Kenchi's arm despite not having the armor on it it looked as good as new. Kenchi chuckled and said.

"Well then Mister Urameshi it appears the battle has only just begun." Kenchi then began walking towards Yusuke who held out his Zanpakuto and with a smirk said to him.

"Exactly right, it has only begun, now then Rise up and protect! SUPPIRITO HADO!" Yusuke erupted with spiritual energy as his Zanpakuto transformed into two Tekko that he held in his hands like brass knuckles. Kenchi tilted his head a little bit before laughing.

"What exactly are you planning to do with those?" Kenchi continued laughing but was caught off guard as Yusuke vanished and reappeared in front of him swinging his left fist straight for him Kenchi had little to no time to react so he tilted his head backwards causing the Tekko to clip his helmet shattering part of it. Kenchi was more then ready to prep a counter attack but before he could he felt a sharp sting in his chest as Yusuke's right fist had made contact shatterring the armor around his chest and shooting him backwards into the wall. As Yusuke landed he clenched his fist around the Tekko on his hands. As Kenchi pulled himself from the wall he grew very angry. "I've had just about ENOUGH OF THIS PATHETIC GAME! NOW IS THE TIME FOR YOU TO DIE!" Kenchi held out his ice blade and it began to glow before Kenchi raised teh blade upwards and it started shining with a bright silver light. "BEHOLD MY ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE, AND THAT WHICH IS GOING TO
SPELL YOUR DOOM!" Yusuke watched as the blade began to flicker before Kenchi stabbed it into the ground calling out as he did. "ICE SERPENT STRIKE SUMMONING!" the ground around them began to quake as Yusuke readied himself he then saw the ground began to push up as if something were burrowing underneath it. as it got closer to Yusuke it split into seven different tunnels. Soon the earth gave way as a seven headed serpent erupted from the ground. It immediately lunged forward all seven of its serpent heads aiming to gobble Yusuke up. Yusuke leapt forward and smashed his right fist into ones of the Serpents sending it flying backwards snout torn open by the Tekko Yusuke then flew in behind it and smashed his knee into what he believed to be the main body. The entire serpent flew backwards into the wall by Kenchi who looked about as dumbfounded as you can get. Yusuke landed on the ground and immediately formed a gun with his hand, it began charging and
growing larger until it encased a huge portion of the room. It was clear to Kenchi that Yusuke did not want him escaping this blast.

"SUPER SPIRIT GUN!" Yusuke fired the massive ball of energy straight at Kenchi and the serpent hitting its mark head on. Kenchi screamed as he tried to hold it back. Yusuke however just wouldnt have it as he poured more power into it causing teh ball to engulf Kenchi. Kenchi screamed out as he reeled back and hurled his Ice blade through the blast, Yusuke saw the blade shoot out the other side although it looked unharmed it stabbed itself into the ground near him. The massive spirit gun blast then exploded taking Kenchi and the Serpent with it. Yusuke sighed and watched as the giant hole in the wall accumulated dust and debris. Yusuke then turned and as he prepared to reseal his Zanpakuto he noticed that Kenchi's ice blade had begun to to glow that same silver light it had been glowing before. Yusuke raised a brow to this and watched as the blade began to exert a strange energy towards where Kenchi had been only moments before. a few moments later
Yusuke's eyes were wide with shock as Kenchi stood before him again his body heaving heavily as he laughed and said.

"Not so big now are you? Was that supposed to kill me? HAHAHA NICE TRY!" Kenchi lunged forward to grab his blade but Yusuke stopped him mid way.

"SO, thats how you've been surviving all my attacks huh?" Yusuke smashed Kenchi in the face with his left Tekko sending him flying back into the wall. Turning towards the ice blade still pierced in the ground he pulled it out and with one mighty punch blew the blade to dust. As Kenchi pulled himself out of the hole in the wall he fell to his knees coughing and gagging. Yusuke turned back in time to see Kenchi turn to dust and and fall to the floor. Yusuke sighed and sealed his zanpakuto before sheathing it. He then turned to go and find his gigai.

Kakashi stood before the two twins both hands in his pockets. As he stood there Emma smirked and twirled before drawing what looked like a jagged brown dagger. She swung the dagger in Kakashi's direction and the ground began to form into spikes that protruded from the ground growing until they reached Kakashi who leapt out of the way forming hand signs as he did he slapped his hands onto the ground and called out.

"Earth style fang pursuit jutsu!" from where he pressed his hands into the ground three large ninja dogs formed out of clouds of smoke that rushed towards the twins who both smiled evily before turning and as the biggest dog lunged at them Emma smashed her leg into it throwing the dog across the room as the other two leapt at Emma, Diamond came out from underneath her leg and punched both of them sending each one flying past Kakashi who leapt up into the air and hurled several kunai at them. The twins gracefully avoided each one before taking eachothers hands and laughing at Kakashi who landed directly in front of them swung his left leg up at them Diamond pulled Emma out of the way as Kakashi spun around and threw a fist at them. Emma pulled Diamond back into her before pushing her and herself out of the way so that Kakashi;s fist hit nothing but air. The twins began laughing as they rushed Kakashi who immediately activated his Sharingan. Emma
leapt up into the air as Diamond stayed on the ground. Kakashi made hand signs and turned to Diamond calling out. "Fire style, fireball jutsu." Kakashi launched a fireball at her and turned his attention back to Emma who had gotten much closer. As she got closre she swung the strange brown dagger at him and as Kakashi prepared to counter a large rock crashed into his stomach causing him to hunch forward and Emma used her free fist to clobber Kakashi in the back of the head but as he fist made contact Kakashi vanished leaving a log in his place. Emma turned just in time to see Kakashi thrusting his hand towards her calling out as he did. "LIGHTNING BLADE!" Emma's eyes were wide as Kakashi's lightning blade hit its mark. Diamond who had been busy dodging the fireball saw this and simply stood there smiling as Kakashi pulled his hand out of her chest and watched as she dropped to the ground. Kakashi glared at Diamond and said as he stepped over Emma's
lifeless body. "Feel free to surrender anytime." Kakashi smirked and readied himself to attack her when a strange glow caught his attention. Turning around he heard laughter and before he could even turn all the way around Emma got right up to the side of his face and smirked and Kakashi moved to avoid what he thought could have been a posible attack he felt a sharp sting as the jagged dagger which was glowing a strange silvery color cut into his right shoulder. Kakashi turned and swung his leg at her but she backflipped away from him just as Diamond came up behind him and slammed her fist into his back launching Kakashi forward, straight into Emma who clotheslined him into the ground. However as Kakashi hit the ground he once again vanished having substituted with a log. Emma and Diamond stood up straight and cracked there necks turning around to see Kakashi nowwhere in sight. Emma then stepped forward and called out.

"Come on out you coward. Face us if your not afraid." Emma looked at Diamond who nodded and they started searching.

Meanwhile underground from Emma and Diamond Kakashi was thinking to himself.
~I don't understand it, how did she survive my lightning blade?~ Kakashi flashbacked to the moment when his lightning blade impacted with Emma. ~I Know that I got her but what i dont understand is how was she able to get up after that wait!~ Kakashi flashbacked again to the moment after he stepped over Emma. There was a strange silvery light coming from that dagger that she had. ~Could it be some form of restoration? Or even worse, some kind of immortality technique to prevent any of us from beating his henchmen?~ Kakashi then had a realization, ~I need to try something before I go any further.~ Kakashi sat in the darkness a moment listening to the footsteps above him. within minutes Emma and Diamond came back together and Diamond stated.

"He couldnt have just gotten out of here." Emma then replied.

" Well he's not here now is he, which means theres only one place he could have gone" Emma looked down at the ground and just as she did it cracked and Kakashi burst from it catching them both off guard. Kakashi thrust one hand into each of there chests calling out as he did.

"Double Lightning Blade!" Emma and Diamond gasped for air before Kakashi pulled his hands out of them. Emma and Diamond dropped to the floor as nothing more then lifeless hunks of flesh. Leaping back Kakashi watched carefully preparing his strategy, as he watched the dagger Emma held in her hand began to glow with the silvery light once again. Paying closer attention  he noticed that it was feeding energy into Emma and Diamond who both opened there eyes only moments later before both getting back up. Emma shook off the now dried blood and glanced over at Diamond who just laughed and said.

"Really now? Thats what you had planned? Come on Emma lets show this fool what we can really do." Diamond and Emma then prepared to rush Kakashi who stood there readying himself. As they took steps towards him Kakashi thought.

~I have to get that dagger away from them just long enough to destroy it.~ Kakashi closed his Sharingan eye and upon opening it again his Sharingan had changed to the mangekyou sharingan. Emma and Diamond leapt forward and so did Kakashi meeting them in the middle he swung his leg upwards at Emma who pushed his leg out of the way before Diamond came in attempting to punch him in the face with a left hook. Kakashi caught her arm and spun her around elbowing her in the back of the head before kicking off of her. Emma then swung the dagger downwards and large rocks began to crash down towards Kakashi who nimbly leapt over and dodged them before coming up to Emma who swung again with the dagger this time attempting to pierce his chest. Kakashi quicly drew a kunai and parried the dagger before looking straight into Emma's eyes and smirking, Emma's eyes grew wide as Kakashi's knee smashed into her stomach causing her to cough up blood. Kakashi knew this
was his chance and he grabbed ahold of her right arm that had been holding the dagger, with one swift motion he crushed her arm and pulled the dagger away from her. Turning quickly Kakashi hurled the dagger into the air as he did he activated Kamui. The dagger was almost instantly sucked into complete and utter oblivion. As it dissappeared Kakashi clutched his eyes only for a moment long enough to deactivate his Mangekyou sharingan. Turning back to Emma and Diamond Kakashi chuckled and said. "Now then maybe we can have a real fight." Kakashi readied himself another Kunai and watched as Emma and Diamond rushed to eachothers sides. Diamond then said to Emma.

"I didn't think we'd have to do this but we dont have much choice. Join with me sister." Diamond held out her hand and Emma took it. She began to glow before merging with Diamond causing an eruption of light energy. Kakashi could feel the power just by standing there in the room before them. Kakashi watched as the light dimmed and Emma and Diamond were gone instead replaced by what looked like a woman with white hair and a silver kimono on. Her face was pale and her skin almost looked gray. She raised a hand to Kakashi and said to him.

"This is my true form, behold it for its beauty and glory. My name is Kikyo and I am going to end your life now." Kakashi readied himself but was shocked to see Kikyo hold out her hand forming what looked like a katana out of thin air. She then burst forward and swung, Kakashi parried but the sheer force of the technique threw him to the ground. Quickly hopping to his feet he saw she was nowwhere to be seen. Instinctively looking behind him he saw nothing but he felt a presense and looking up he saw her nosediving at him. Leaping out of the way She began spiraling before arching upwards and following him. Kakashi formed several hand signs before calling out.

"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" Kakashi landed and a large water dragon appeared lunging straight at Kikyo who dove straight into it. Kakashi was astounded but he soon discovered why it did. Within a moment the dragon was gone and Kikyo stood before him smirking.  
 
"Is that really the best that you can do? If so I'm very dissappointed." Kickyo chuckled and raised her hand in the air above them what appeared to be several large balls of energy formed. Kakashi stared at them a moment before turning his gaze back to Kikyo. Thinking to himself as he waited.

~Ill have to use that jutsu again if I am to beat her.~ Kakashi lifted his gaze to the balls of energy but before he could do anything Kikyo swung her hand down and spoke softly.

"Star shower." As Kikyo brought her hand down the balls of energy began crashing down towards Kakashi. He leapt backwards to avoid the first one but quickly had to leap and bound out of the way. But he quickly realized the energy balls had stopped moving just as they were about to hit the ground. It was only then as Kakashi landed that he realized what was going on. The massive balls of energy exploded, scattering tiny little energy balls straight for him. Kakashi formed hand signs and the second the balls struck he disappeared into a cloud of smoke a log taking his place. Reappearing behind the cloud of tiny energy balls he felt relieved long enough to get caught off guard. Feeling a hand grip his shoulder he felt a powerful kick land straight in the center of his back sending him flying forwards. Before Kakashi could take counter measures Kikyo grabbed him by the hair and smashed him in the ground. The impact caused him to cough up some blood as Kikyo leapt back and flicked her wrist. The energy balls reversed and crashed down onto Kakashi, each one exploding on impact. Kakashi howled out in pain as each one slammed into him and the ground around him. As the last of them hit there mark Kikyo chuckled and stated. "You were semi entertaining, but it looks like the fun is over." As the smoke cleared Kakashi lay in the crater that was where he was. His jonin vest had been blown to shreds and he lay there still and lifeless. Upon seeing this Kikyo turned and shrugged her shoulders before starting to walk away. As she did she felt a strange presence closing in on her, the air around her began to look hazy and distorted. "What the?" Quickly turning around she saw a badly beaten Kakashi kneeling down on one knee his mangekyou sharingan had been activated. Kikyos eyes grew wide as she said. "What is this? How did you survive?" Kakashi was panting heavily, gave no reply and continued on with casting his jutsu. Kikyo clapped her hands together just as she felt herself being sucked in and her entire body began glowing before separating into two glowing masses that were thrown in two different directions. Kakashi stopped his jutsu and turned his gaze to the two lifeforms. It was Emma and Diamond. Kakashi then thought to himself.

~I still have a chance, but if I do that it will drain the rest of my chakra and I may not survive.~ Kakashi was still panting heavily as he forced himself to his feet. Emma and Diamond rose as Kakashi clenched his fists tight. ~It looks like i dont have much choice though.~ "First gate, gate of opening, RELEASE!" In his brain the restraint was removed and Kakashi's body began growing stronger as he felt his muscles expand and tighten. Raising his arms to cross them over his chest he called out. "Second Gate! Gate of Healing RELEASE!" Again in his brain another restraint was removed and Kakashi felt himself re-energized as well as feeling his physical strength increase yet again. tightening his fists again he called out a third time. "Third gate, gate of Life RELEASE!" On Kakashi's spinal cord the restraint was removed and his skin began to turn red. Kakashi then called out once more. "FOURTH GATE, GATE OF PAIN RELEASE!" Again on his spinal cord the restraint was removed and he felt a sharp sting in his arm which he knew had to of been the muscle tissue tearing. All the while Kakashi was powering up Emma and Diamond had regrouped and stared in wonder at him. Quickly fusing back together Kikyo lunged forward in an attempt to strike him before he got her. But as she got close Kakashi opened his eyes and his right eye was pure white the pupils seemed to have vanished and his Sharingan eye was white with the Sharingan activated. Kakashi vanished and appeared underneath her he slammed his foot into her stomach and launched her into the air. Kakashi then spun around and launched himself after her. Matching her movements exactly with the use of his sharingan Kakashi made it behind her and wrapped his arms and legs around her. Kikyo then screamed at him.

"RELEASE ME FOOL!" As She finished Kakashi began spinning at a violently fast speed before pile driving her into the ground. As Kakashi landed he quickly formed hand signs and held out his hands. they erupted with lightning energy and just as Kikyo stood up Kakashi lunged forward and slammed the first one into her chest launching her into the air. Kakashi followed after and proceeded to vanish appearing behind her he called out.

"DOUBLE LIGHTNING QUAKE!" He thrust the second Lightning blade into Kikyo's back and smashed her into the ground. leaping backwards he watched as Kikyo again attempted to stand. As she did he was covered in her own blood. She coughed and puked up a large amount of blood before saying.

"You have done well to get this far, but don't think it's over just yet." However before Kikyo could do or say anything more Kakashi lunged forward and just as he got up close he backflip kicked her into the air once again. As Kakashi prepared to launch after her he thought to himself.

~This will be my last technique.~ Kakashi could feel the after effects of the four gates having been opened. ~Im Surprised I was able to get this far myself. Afterall I spent alt of time training just to be able to open four of the gates. I guess I have to say thankyou Guy for helping out on that one.~ Kakashi then launched himself after her and proceeded to strike her at inhuman speed before smashing into her with one arm and one foot sending her on a one way ticket straight into the ground. As Kakashi landed he immediately collapsed to his knees and hands puking blood through his mask as he did. as his vision began to fade he saw the lifeless Kikyo lying in a crater in a pool of her own blood. Her body was twisted and mangled. Kakashi waited a moment to see if she was going to get up again, after what seemed like an eternity of waiting Kakashi realized he had won the battle and as everything went dark he collapsed to the ground entirely saying just before passing out. "Good luck Giatsu."

As Giatsu and Ichigo continued running down the seemingly endless corridor they finally came to a large room with a single light in the center of the room. Rushing into the room they skidded to a halt when they saw a familiar face, it was Zero holding his katana and staring at them silently. Giatsu stepped forward and called out to him.

"Zero! What the hell happened to you? Are you okay? Come on, we have to get out of here." Giatsu stared as Zero said nothing it was then that Ichigo spoke up.

"I have a feeling that he isnt himself." No sooner had Ichigo said that Zero finally spoke up.

"The two of you will die today." Zero then took a step forward and began to rush at them.
